Up Dharma Down takes elements from different genres and combines them to create a sound that is uniquely their own. Many of their listeners have tried to categorise their music, but the best way to understand their music is to press play. They have been with independent label Terno Recordings since 2004.
Curt Smith, Tears for Fears: "Finally getting to listen to CD’s given to me this year and Up Dharma Down‘s Bipolar is pretty great!"
Paul Buchanan, The Blue Nile: "My favorite group. Beautiful, victorious, elegant, muscular music."
Tim Bowness, No-Man: "Bringing together an intense and original combination of styles and influences and blessed with the beguiling voice of Armi Millare, Up Dharma Down are a hit waiting to happen."
Marc Cole, BBC: "The Manila band most likely to cross over to the lucrative Anglophone market of North America."

The results are in! Though we didn't get the 6th spot, we're sure that we'll always have your support. Part of why we enjoy being Up Dharma Down is the ambiguity of our listenership; we'll always be your awkward little band from Manila who just got really lucky. What we did not expect however, was the support we've gotten from everyone, where on the last day alone, we had over a hundred thousand votes, with people signing up on Twitter just to show us how the music has touched them. And that, our friends, is the biggest -- though intangible -- reward any geeky musician could ever want.
Our special thanks to MTV Philippines and MTV Asia, Mr. Andrew de Castro for believing in us.
